PEDALS: Positive Emotional Development and Learning Skills (NY):
To help prepare young children emotionally and socially for kindergarten, The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation and the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York have partnered to create PEDALS: Positive Emotional Development and Learning Skills. PEDALS is a two-year program providing early child care educators in Erie and Niagara counties with coaching on how to use evidence-based emotional and social curricula and assessments in their classrooms.
Think College is a program of the Institute for Community Inclusion at UMass Boston. The Tower Foundation is providing matching funds for a federal innovation grant awarded to Think College. The project is testing the effectiveness of a program that enrolls students with intellectual disabilities in college while they are still in high school. Students are supported in both academic and career development pursuits.
